GRANDVILLE, Mich.,––This week Honda announced some exciting news. Their award-winning and youthful subcompact car, the Honda Fit, will arrive in 2018 with new styling, new trims, and even more safety features. While Honda hasn't released any engine specs, they have given the public a few details on what to expect for the 2018 model year.

Introducing the 2018 Honda Fit

As you can see in the photo above, the 2018 Honda Fit is quite a bit different in looks. The front fascia, new grille, sharp lines, and even color choices are more aggressive than they have been in the past. This look is definitely more sporty, young, and sharp. You might notice that many of these new design features match those of the 2018 Odyssey, 2017 CR-V, and 2017 Civic. Driver will get to choose from two new fun colors - the Helios Yellow Pearl and the Orange fury.



Aside from a few photos and design details, Honda announced the subcompact 2018 Honda Fit will be available in a Sport trim (featured above) and with Honda Sensing. The Sport trim will lie in between the LX and EX trim levels. This particular trim will come with more aero-focused design features including a lower, sharper, front splitter, exclusive black 16" alloy wheels, and a chrome exhaust.

The available Honda Sensing will lead this class-leading subcompact car to received more awards than it ever has, especially since the Honda Fit is always a top safety pick! The Honda Sensing suite of driver assistive and safety features includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist System, Lane Departure Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Road Departure Warning. This will make the 2018 Honda Fit the most safety feature packed car in its price range.

GRANDVILLE, Mich.,––The birds are singing, the warm weather is back, and the flowers are blooming. It's the one of the most wonderful times of the year in West Michigan, unless you have allergies. For those of us who are sensitive to pollen, Spring can be a rough season to get through. We've got some tips on combating seasonal allergies that might provide you with some relief and allow you to enjoy time spent with family in the sunshine!

1. Keep Your Windows Shut

This task might be hard to do, but it can save you a lot of pain. Check the weather online or on a comprehensive smartphone app like Wunderground to see the pollen rating for the day. This will help you better determine whether it's worth it to keep the windows open or closed. When you're out on the road, make sure to turn "air recirculation" on and keep the windows closed. This will recycle the air that's already inside your car instead of bringing fresh air and pollen from outside into the car (this will also help your car to cool down or warm up faster).

2. Leave Your Shoes at the Door

When you've been outside, even for a moment, there's a good chance some pollen attached itself to your clothing, hair, skin, and shoes. Each time you come inside, leave those dirt and pollen tracking soles at the door and wash yourself off as much as you can.

3. Eat Healthy & Drink More Fluids

In all honesty, what can't eating healthy cure?! While eating healthy might not instantly stop your nose from running or your eyes from itching, but it has been shown to help cut down on allergy symptoms in children. In addition to healthier eating, try to drink more non-alcoholic beverages. The steam in hot tea can work wonders on that stuffy post-nasal drip.

4. Keep Your Home Clean

As mentioned in tip #2, just momentarily being outside or having the windows open can track in unwanted pollen and dander. By regularly dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning surfaces in your home can help eliminate some of that allergy-causing gunk and help you feel better!

5. Kill Mites & Pollen with Hot Water

While pollen is a big allergy causer, dust mites can be a more serious offender for some. These dust mites love to hang out on things like your bedding, but can be rid of easily with hot water. Wash your bedding and other soft touch items like towels, sheets, blankets, and stuffed animals once per week in hot water. Make sure to finish them in a hot dryer as well!

6. Control Allergy Causing Mold by Dehumidifying

Each and every house has mold in it, whether you wanted to know or not. It's normal and not a serious health threat, but you can control it a little bit and find relief with your allergies. You can use a dehumidifier in your home to get rid of moisture, which can foster mold and trigger allergy symptoms. You can also use your air conditioner to help accomplish this!

GRANDVILLE, Mich.,––The market is changing, and we're glad to say Honda has been keeping graceful stride with the change! SUVs have become the high stakes player in the sales game, while car sales have respectively taken a dive. This change has lead to reports of very steep decreases in car sales and overall sales with other manufacturers. In instance, Ford reported a decrease of 21/2% in car sales.

Despite the slight overall decrease, American Honda's truck division increased in sales by 9.2% year-over-year, leading to a 1.2% increase year-over-year. Let's take a look at the Honda April Sales Report in more detail!

Honda thankfully still saw strong demand for their cars in April, unlike many other manufacturers, despite the drop in year-over-year numbers. The one Honda car that posted an increase? The Honda Fit, which increased by 0.8% with a total of 4,871 units.

Honda also saw strong demand for their trucks. The CR-V posted a year-over-year increase of 26.6% and a month-to-month increase of 13%, which might be thanks to the redesigned 2017 model. The Ridgeline also helped the segment increase overall by posting sales of 3,186 units. Not to mention the HR-V, which posted a month-to-month increase of 22.4%, the Odyssey and Pilot which helped the truck division reach overall sales of 61,114 units!
