It's not just a holiday for couples, but for families alike. As families, we spend lots of time together even though a lot of it isn't quality time. You can use Valentine's Day as the perfect opportunity to do something fun and carefree together. It could be a nice dinner out, an outing downtown, or even some fun activities inside, especially since this Valentine's Day will be another cold one. We've come up with 6 fun Valentine's Day crafts to do with the family that can be done inside and that will make this holiday a memorable one, together!

1. Heart Penguin Craft

These cuties are made with simple construction paper! All you need is construction paper in blue, black, white, yellow, and red/pink, safe scissors, and glue. Get creative and have your kids decorate the background!

Remember string art? It has made a comeback, and is the perfect craft for children! These require some thick card stock paper, colorful yarn, and a large threading needle.

3. Finger Painted Love Sign

For variation, you could even use an XO or a heart shape for similar relief effect. This project requires cardboard, tape, paint, and a canvas or paper.

4. Rainbow Heart Suncatchers

These jewel like sun catchers are both fun to make, and lovely to keep on your windows especially during the grey winter months. For this craft you'll need plastic sheet protectors, scissors, tissue paper, paint brushes, and mod podge.

5. Popsicle Stick Picture Frames

Even though the snow is sparse, the Christmas cheer is in the air. The Christmas parade will roll through and the tree will be lit tonight in Grandville signifying a season of love and giving. Now it's time to deck your own halls and have a little fun - tis' the season for kids Christmas crafts! Make sure to layout newspaper on your tables and have a cleanup station ready. Enjoy!

1. Yarn Wrapped Christmas Tree Ornaments

These aren't too difficult, but the glue could make things messy. Get creative and add small items other than pompoms to personalize.

You can create a cute and puffy snowman, or add colors or a different type of glitter to change things up. Beware, glitter can easily get everywhere!
