Climbing the Kebenekaise Mountain in his native Sweden, cycling to Paris, swimming through the Baltic Sea to the island of Åland, skiing to the South Pole and reaching the peak of Kilimanjaro; all feats that would test any adventurer.

Former paralympian Aron Anderson, who has become something of a celebrity in his home country, has done all of these things and more, despite being left in a wheelchair after cancer surgery when he was just nine years old.

“For me it’s not about what happens in life, but how we chose to make the best of it.”

Aron’s ability to overcome challenges and excel in whatever he does also helps him deliver motivational speeches and inspire others to fulfill their dreams. This doesn’t mean he’s finished his own adventures yet though; swimming with sharks, parachuting, cycling through a desert and climbing more mountains are all on his list of things to achieve

+Ford España claimed the title for the world’s largest billboard, certified by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ after unveiling an advertisement the size of 20 tennis courts for the new EcoSport sports utility vehicle.


The 5,265 m2 huge installation on the iconic Espana Building in Madrid, Spain, weighs in at 2,000 kg, and is held in place by 600 anchors. Following the campaign, the billboard will be donated to charity.

The humble beehive has inspired our engineers to develop the “Honeycomb Shelf” – a lightweight, secret boot shelf with a strength-to-weight-ratio stronger than steel.

Developed for Ford's new EcoSport SUV and designed to conceal valuables that may be fragile, the adjustable shelf can support loads of more than 300 kg – heavier than three average adult men, even wearing full beekeeping kit – but weighing less than 3 kg.

“Nature is like one big innovation laboratory, and from bees to termites to beavers, animals are some of the world’s best engineers. The honeycomb’s ability to deliver strength without adding weight has already been put to good use in space rockets, jet planes and supercars.”

To create the “Honeycomb Shelf”, engineers sandwiched a layer of honeycomb-like cells consisting of recycled paper and a water-based glue between two layers of light and durable fibreglass.  The lightweight solution also benefits fuel efficiency.

Video editor +Charlie Bray described the shoot for the "One-Shot" Ford EcoSport launch film, which took place in Barcelona recently, featuring twenty six action sports athletes from across Europe alongside the new more capable EcoSport.

A "one-shot" video, which is a single continuous take in time, is quite a challenging thing to pull off. Especially when there are so many people taking part, performing stunts over the sequence: coming in, out of and across the frame.



Despite all the technical challenges it was a lot of fun.

Freerunners, BMX bikers, skateboarders and a host of street sports athletes flip, jump and spin around the new EcoSport for a new video that was filmed in just one take.



The 90-second sequence was shot on location in Barcelona, Spain, with GoPro cameras, that captured the 26 athletes as they performed daring tricks and showcased the moves using freeze frames in the style made famous by The Matrix movie series.

Skateboarder +Madars Apse and professional freerunner +Dimitris Dk' Kyrsanidis appear and fellow pro freerunner +Katie McDonnell and BMX star Kriss Kyle also dropped in for the shoot.

“It’s been absolutely amazing to be part of something special like this, it’s not every day you get to jump over a car. It’s been great to work with all these other athletes from different disciplines.”

With no editing allowed, each athlete had to perform their stunt up close and perfectly alongside our boldly styled new compact sports utility vehicle.

“There’s a lot of pressure in this sequence, the main thing is to connect with the other people. If you fail then you’re forcing others to risk stunts again because of you, which is quite the opposite to free running.”
