GRANDVILLE, Mich.,––Ahh, your garage, the home for your car, or your storage unit. Whatever you call it, if you have it, it's a space that you're probably thinking about when the spring season rolls around. There might be bicycles, garden tools, sidewalk chalk, and other sorts equipment you'll need for the warm weather somewhere in your garage. For many of us though, there's more than just that. For many of us, there's lots of junk crammed into the corners, overcrowding shelves, and taking up valuable floor space, because not everything can stay outside during the winter.

This is why we've all got garage on the mind whenever someone mentions "spring cleaning". Depending on the state of your space, doing some organization or cleaning in the garage could sound easy, or it could sound completely dreadful. Either way, we've got some great garage organization hacks that'll help you clear it out AND keep it clear throughout the rest of the year!

Sports fanatics in the family? This hack is great for storing basketballs, soccer balls, footballs, bouncy balls, and more. All you need is a corner, some wood, a few screws, and bungee cords. You can easily adjust the amount of bungee cords and size of the "container" if needed.

Those annoying power cords? A simple hook and chain is a great solution that'll avoid any tangling or falling. We recommend these velcro ties to keep your cords neat, tidy, and together!

Everybody needs some shelving in their garage, and this solution is an easy one (it only takes about 1-2 hours to complete)! Keep in mind, these shelves attach right to your garage wall, but they're great for plastic storage bins, garden tools, etc. Be sure you've got enough room for your car before screwing the boards into the wall.

Magnetic strips make storage super easy. Just install and start sticking stuff up. You can also use this hack with metal lidded jars (hack: glue a large washer to plastic lids to make it stick) for storing nails, screws, staples, nuts, bolts, and whatever other small items you can think of!

Keep shoes in the garage? Even just tennis shoes for when you mow the lawn or do yard work? Try this hack! Alternatively, you could hang a shoe organizer on the wall.
