The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE: Outrageous hypercar set to storm the industry

January 14, 2017 0
What better way to celebrate half a century of refined motoring and state-of-the-art performance than with a dream hypercar? In the year when AMG turns 50, the Affalterbach-based performance division of Mercedes-Benz will officially introduce its first hypercar after the Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR AMG of the mid 90s. As confirmed a few days ago, the Project ONE will be a spectacular looking hypercar with pinnacle Formula 1 technology.

Rumored to receive the R50 name (where "R" stands for Renn, which is the German for "racing", and the "50" particle indicates the half-century anniversary of AMG), the hypercar is being co-developed with Mercedes-AMG HighPerformancePowertrains (or HPP) in Brixworth, which is in charge of producing the entire F1 powertrains used by Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team. The body of the R50 will be extremely sleek and aerodynamic to create a sensational drag and diminish air friction. The exterior design, as confirmed by Prof. Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG, will be entirely unique, mindblowing and state-of-the-art.

The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE will be the very first car to offer a full F1 powertrain package. The hypercar will be powered by a hybrid 1.6-litre V6 turbocharged engine fitted with an electric ERS (Energy Recovery system) unit, which offers a combined output of well over 1000 hp. It is said that the R50 will be capable of achieving the golden standard of 1 horsepower per kilogram. Moreover, the Mercedes-AMG R50 hypercar will be equipped with an all-wheel-drive traction system and a purely electric, wheel selective front axle drive concept.

If rumors are to be believed, then the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE should be officially premiered during summer of 2017. Be prepared and stay tuned to Mercedes-Benz-Blog as further information about the AMG hypercar will leake from inside the Affalterbach labs in the coming months!

Half a century of Driving Performance: Celebrating 50 years of Mercedes-AMG success

January 14, 2017 0
Affalterbach - AMG: these three letters stand worldwide for supreme automotive performance, exclusivity, efficiency and highly dynamic driving pleasure. In 2017, the company founded by Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher is celebrating its 50th anniversary. In the course of this half-century, Mercedes-AMG has recorded numerous successes in motor sport and through the development of unique road-going vehicles, thereby repeatedly underlining its position as a highly successful sports car and performance brand – and today this is truer than ever. Today, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, the Affalterbach-based company represents the sporting spearhead of the Group. In this anniversary year, with an eye to the future, Mercedes-AMG will carry on the exceptional success story of what began as a two-man company. For each of the now around 1500 employees, the focus will be on the brand promise of "Driving Performance", which unites the core strengths of AMG: cutting-edge technology and a passion for dynamic, emotively appealing products. The company from Affalterbach stands worldwide for outstanding engine expertise, which includes not only development, but also the "one man, one engine" philosophy, which means that each engine is, so to speak, hand-crafted by one engine builder. With almost 100,000 units delivered in 2016, i.e. over 40 percent growth, and the biggest strategic model initiative in the company's history, AMG heads into this anniversary year with record figures under its belt.

Mercedes-AMG expanded significantly in 2016 as a whole and, with growth of 44.1%, again significantly exceeded the best previous-year figures. With 99,235 vehicles delivered, the success story of Mercedes-Benz's sports car and performance brand reached a new level. Unit sales have thus more than tripled since 2013. This dynamic growth was made possible by continuous further development of the performance models, which are in greater demand than ever. Yet the strategic broadening of the portfolio in recent years has also led to the successful development of new groups of customers. Hence, the company's global success is not solely based on the popular eight-cylinder models of the 63 series. The compact 45 series models, along with the wide range of 43 series models, are finding favour with very many customers while placing AMG's modern product portfolio on a broad, solid basis. The markets with the highest unit sales in the most successful year in the company's history were once again the USA, Germany and China.

"We're on the road to worldwide success with our strategic portfolio expansion and can look back on a sensational year. The 63 series models still constitute our core product line, and they continue to delight auto enthusiasts around the world. In addition, our AMG GT series, which was developed entirely in-house, is now available as a broad-based family, with which we have impressively demonstrated our expertise as a sports car brand. At the same time, our broad portfolio puts us in the perfect position for further sustained growth. Our task now is not just to celebrate the AMG success story, but, in one of the most exciting periods of automotive history, to help shape the performance of the future,"
says Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes‑AMG GmbH.

Development of new categories of customers through portfolio expansion

2016 saw the biggest strategic model initiative in the history of Mercedes-AMG: with over ten new models being added to the product portfolio, from January 2017 performance-minded customers are able to choose from over 50 models. In each category, Mercedes-AMG boasts a comprehensive and impressive product offering: from the most powerful standard-production four-cylinder compact to the sportily elegant S 65 with a superior twelve-cylinder engine, from saloons and estates in many different output classes, to a broad range of SUVs and coupés, to cabriolets and variously configured roadsters. The available technology is among the best on offer in the respective vehicle categories, ranging from optimised rear-wheel drive to state-of-the-art all-wheel drive, as well as from a dual-clutch transmission to a sporty nine-gear automatic transmission.

At the same time, the sports car and performance brand has won entirely new groups of customers with its recently launched 43 series models. The first such vehicles were unveiled by Mercedes-AMG at the Detroit Auto Show two years ago. The 43 series models come with a powerful and efficient six-cylinder engine. Other hallmarks of the 43 series derivatives include special transmission tuning with shorter shift times as well as AMG-specific axle designs and suspensions, powerful brake components and other various interior/exterior distinguishing features, confirming the models as typical AMG vehicles that fully meet the brand claim of "Driving Performance" while authentically representing the brand in the respective market segments.

With the Mercedes-AMG GT series, the Affalterbach-based company is once again underlining its status as a highly dynamic sports car brand. Following the SLS AMG, the GT models are the second sports car family to be developed entirely in-house. The front mid-engine concept with transaxle and the intelligent aluminium lightweight construction form the basis for a highly dynamic driving experience. In 2016, AMG added particularly dynamic and fascinating models to the GT family in the form of the GT R and the two open-top roadster variants, the GT Roadster and the GT C Roadster. But that's not all: following the AMG GT C Roadster, the Coupé is also available in the anniversary year with the same next-level performance and technology. It is positioned between the AMG GT S and AMG GT R and, at the time of the launch, will be exclusively equipped as the Edition 50 special model. At the same time, the Mercedes-AMG GT and AMG GT S benefit from visual and technical enhancements.

Hypercar with Formula 1 technology

Alongside its continuing strategic product initiative, Mercedes-AMG is setting a further landmark in 2017 by giving a fascinating peek into the future performance in the form of a street-legal hypercar. Offering unadulterated Formula 1 technology for the road, the hypercar is thus the first commercially available vehicle with F1 hybrid powertrain and road approval. With a system output of over 1000 hp and four-wheel drive with all-electric front axle, it marks the pinnacle of what is currently technologically feasible. In terms of output and efficiency, this hypercar points the way to "AMG Future Performance". AMG models are already among the most efficient in their class. The latest example is the Mercedes-AMG E 63. For maximum efficiency, AMG has, for example, equipped the V8 engine in the performance saloon with the AMG Cylinder Management cylinder deactivation system. In addition, a highly intelligent all-wheel drive system as well as a transmission optimised for sportiness and efficiency, including a coasting function, provide the guarantee of exemplary low consumption and emissions values.

Outstanding customer sports season 2016

With a total of 18 overall victories and 32 other podium finishes, the international customer and performance teams celebrated a sensational season in 2016 with the new Mercedes-AMG GT3. The GT3 racing car got the season off to the ideal start. Following victory in the ADAC 24‑hour qualification race, in the 24‑hour race at the Nürburgring in late May the new GT3 racing car posted the greatest victory to date since the inception of the AMG customer sports programme, with overall victory, pole position, fastest lap as well as further finishes in second, third, fourth and sixth place now on record in the annals of motor sport. The brand's clean sweep of the podium places in the world's largest car race was shared by the AMG team BLACK FALCON (P1), the AMG team HTP Motorsport (P2) and the HARIBO Racing Team-AMG (P3).

Also in the customer sports programme, Mercedes-AMG will keep its foot on the gas in the coming season, with participation of the successful AMG GT3 being extended to the USA. Renowned teams will contest both the highly popular IMSA Series as well as the PWC, the Pirelli World Challenge. Also in the USA, the teams will benefit from optimal support from Mercedes-AMG Customer Sports.

Competence centre for V8 development

Affalterbach is home to the management, administration, sales, development and design teams as well as AMG hand-crafted engine building. This is where AMG V8 engines are produced. Other engines are produced in Kölleda (four-cylinder in-line engines) and Mannheim (V12 engines). Each engine is hand-assembled by a single engine builder at these sites according to the "one man, one engine" philosophy and provided with a badge hand-signed by the relevant technician.

Mercedes-AMG is today responsible for the development not only of the new eight-cylinder family of the Mercedes-Benz brand, but also of the AMG V8 engines. The first standard-production vehicle to be fitted with a V8 engine developed in Affalterbach was the G 500, which celebrated its market launch in September 2015. The V8 engine for the upcoming new S‑Class was also developed in Affalterbach, underlining the engine-building expertise of the three-lettered brand.

First-class customer support at AMG Performance Centres

As part of the strategic broadening of the portfolio to over 50 models, the number of AMG Performance Centres has also undergone huge expansion. At over 400 Performance Centres in 40 countries, customers and fans can immerse themselves in the brand world of Mercedes-AMG. These are places where the history of the brand and its DNA can be experienced first-hand. In addition, first-class customer service is an essential part of the AMG brand claim of "Driving Performance". The sales rooms at the AMG Performance Centres, which are integrated into Mercedes-Benz dealerships as a shop-in-shop system, are characterised by an entirely distinct AMG brand identity. High-grade materials, an exclusive motor sport ambience and hallmark AMG colours make for an accessible brand experience. As appropriate for the wide product range, trained and qualified AMG sales and service experts provide knowledgeable advice and support to customers worldwide.

The next stage in the development of the AMG Performance Centres will see the opening of further AMG sales and service operations with a distinct architecture in Japan and Australia. As an addition to the existing global sales network, the separate centre in Tokyo Setagaya, which opens on 12 January 2017, will spearhead the dealer network while defining the next stage of the strategic sales initiative. In a total area of almost 1000 square metres, customers can learn about the latest AMG Performance models and their technological features, the AMG Driving Academy, the AMG Collection and the involvement of AMG in motor sport.

Exclusive AMG Private Lounge

Another central component of customer support is the online AMG Private Lounge. Launched in 2006 for US customers, it was expanded to German-speaking areas in 2009 and brought an international dimension to the official AMG Brand Community. The online platform invites AMG owners to share their passion for the brand with other AMG enthusiasts. Insider knowledge, direct contact with Affalterbach, exclusive events and opportunities to communicate and exchange ideas give the brand a more approachable face. At present, the AMG Private Lounge Community has an accredited membership of over 48,000 worldwide. No other car manufacturer offers anything comparable.

Pit radio for AMG customers

To ensure a high quality of customer support, customers have access to an exclusive AMG hotline, launched in October 2016. The primary aim of the "pit radio" is to restore performance when needed – in the event of an accident, for example. The service hotline can also help if the customer has any technical questions or wants to make a workshop appointment. A defined process guarantees customers the quickest possible assistance. The hotline is initially available to customers in Germany, Great Britain, France, Austria and Switzerland, with further markets and a broadening of the offering to follow.

Milestones in the history of the sports car and performance brand

The company, founded by Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher, has been fulfilling the dreams of performance enthusiasts for 50 years. The pair set up their first workshop in an old mill in 1967 as an "engineering office and design and testing centre for the development of racing engines". In 1971, the AMG 300 SEL 6.8 of "Aufrecht and Melcher, Großaspach" – in short: AMG – claimed victory completely out of the blue in its class and took second place overall in the 24‑hour race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Another milestone was the all-new cylinder head with cutting-edge valve technology, developed by Melcher.

Collaboration with Mercedes-Benz began in 1990. The C 36 AMG, launched in 1993, was the first vehicle on the market to result from the collaboration agreement with Daimler-Benz. In 2005, Mercedes-AMG became a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler-AG and 2009 saw the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the first vehicle to be developed entirely by Mercedes-AMG. AMG branched into motor racing with the SLS AMG GT3 in 2011. This was followed by the introduction of the Mercedes-AMG GT in 2014 and the launch of the 43 series models in 2015, introducing a broader target group to the brand.

Mercedes-AMG extensively upgrades AMG GT family: More sports cars from Mercedes-AMG on 50th anniversary

January 14, 2017 0
Year 2017 will mark the 50th anniversary of AMG. To kick off celebrations which will span over the entire 12 months, the Affalterbach-based performance division of Mercedes-Benz will present a host of new and special edition models. The very first on the list are the new Mercedes-AMG GT variants, which received a package of thorough optical and technical upgrades right in time for the new year.

The AMG GT family under the C 190 and R 190 model series now comprises no less than six versions in both Coupe and Roadster guises, as follows: GT Coupe, GT Roadster, GT S Coupe, GT C Coupe, GT C Roadster and GT R. The face of the new GT and GT S is now characterized by the hallmark AMG Panamericana grille, which first made its official debut on the GT R variant. The GT C is now also offered in Coupe body, after being introduced at the premiere of the Roadster models in Autumn 2016. For the beginning, this version will be exclusively sold as a special GT C Edition 50 model.

The GT C Edition 50 will be available in two exterior colours: designo graphite grey magno and designo cashmere white magno. Further exterior appointments include the black-coloured forged twin-spoke alloy wheels and black chrome highlights on the Panamericana grille, side skirts, front wings, air vents, exhausts and rear diffuser. At the rear end, the special "GT Edition 50" badge on the boot lid reminds about the exclusiveness of this performance coupe. Inside, the dark tones of the exterior are transposed thanks to the STYLE nappa leather upholstery in silver pearl/black with grey diamond-patterned contrasting topstitching and DINAMICA microfiber leather coating for the steering wheel, which also features the 12 o'clock mark coloured in silver pearl and the "AMG Edition" lettering.

The technical updates include, among other, the active rear-axle steering and the AIRPANEL active aero system borrowed from the GT R model. The baseline GT models are equipped with the AMG M178 4.0-litre V8 BITURBO engine which now delivers 476 hp, a 14 hp increase compared to the outgoing model generation (2014 - 2016). Furthermore, the GT S Coupe has also received an output boost of 12 hp up to 522 hp. The GT C variants (GT C Edition 50 and Roadster) are boasting 557 hp of peak output, whereas the range-topping GT R, offered solely as a Coupe, is ranking high at 585 hp.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Affalterbach - Mercedes-AMG celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2017. To the theme of "50 Years of Driving Performance", the sports car and performance brand is marking the occasion by extending the AMG GT family of sports cars with the new Mercedes-AMG GT C. Hence, the AMG GT C Roadster will now be joined by a Coupé version of the same model line. Positioned between AMG GT S and AMG GT R, the new vehicle will initially be available exclusively as a special Edition 50 model. At the same time, the Mercedes-AMG GT and AMG GT S are being visually and technically upgraded while receiving even more power.

"With the AMG GT C, we are now expanding our portfolio of sports cars to six models plus the AMG GT3 customer sport racing car. In under three years, the second vehicle to be developed by us entirely in-house has grown into a family offering a highly dynamic driving experience in a variety of forms. We are kicking off our anniversary year with the exclusive Edition 50 model of the new AMG GT C Coupé. We are also taking this opportunity to refine the AMG GT and AMG GT S both visually and technically," says Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes‑AMG GmbH.

Shared distinguishing feature: the new front end

The new models are identifiable by the distinctive AMG Panamericana grille, which is now shared by all AMG GT models. Underlining the motor sport heritage, the grille features 15 chrome-plated, vertical bars, which echo the look of the latest Mercedes‑AMG GT3 customer sport racing car. The new front apron emphasises the car's width, making it sit flatter on the road. The large outer air inlets guarantee the supply of cooling air to the engine.

Now on all AMG GT models: AIRPANEL active air management system from the AMG GT R

All AMG GT variants now sport a special technical highlight from the AMG GT R: the AIRPANEL active air management system. Vertical louvres in the bottom of the front apron can be opened and closed by an electric motor in around one second to guarantee the required amount of cooling. Constantly achieving the ideal position calls for highly intelligent and fast control.

During normal driving with no increased cooling demand, the louvres are closed for reduced drag and the air is directed at the underbody. This improves the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicles. Only when certain components reach predefined temperatures and the air demand is particularly high do the louvres open to allow the maximum cooling air flow to the heat exchangers.

As part of this new design measure, the engine oil cooler on all AMG GT models has moved from the front to the wheel arches. On the other hand, the main radiator retains its place at the front.

New output variants: the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine

Mercedes-AMG is restructuring the range of output/torque variants of the 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo engine. Hence, the AMG GT entry-level model now puts out 350 kW (476 hp), i.e. 10 kW (14 hp) more than before. In addition, with 630 Nm, the basic version of the eight-cylinder machine now delivers an extra 30 Nm of peak torque for even greater tractive power. The same figures will apply to the GT Roadster from its market launch.

The output from the GT S grows by 9 kW (12 hp) to 384 kW (522 hp), with the peak torque climbing 20 Nm to 670 Nm.

The next level is marked by the C variants of the Coupé and Roadster with 410 kW (557 hp) and 680 Nm peak torque. The top of the line is the AMG GT R with 430 kW (585 hp) and 700 Nm of torque.

Technical data at a glance:

Further-enhanced driving dynamics: the new AMG GT C

Like the Roadster unveiled in Paris, the new AMG GT C, too, impresses with further-enhanced driving dynamics courtesy of numerous technical highlights from the Mercedes-AMG GT R. The new vehicle will launch in the form of a special Edition 50 model. Like the AMG GT R, the new member of the family is identifiable by its broad, muscular rear end and large wheels. Other technical measures include the wider rear track and active rear axle steering.

The new rear side walls make the AMG GT C a total of 57 millimetres wider than the AMG GT and AMG GT S, giving it exactly the same dimension as the AMG GT R. The muscular styling creates space for larger wheels and a wider track. Both measures increase the traction while allowing higher cornering speeds. The likewise wider rear apron of the AMG GT C improves the airflow at the rear. In common with the AMG GT and AMG GT S, the rear aerofoil is integrated into the luggage compartment flap and is electrically extended or retracted at predetermined speeds, depending on the selected drive program.

Borrowed from motor sport: the AMG sports suspension

The AMG sports suspension, too, confirms the motor racing heritage of the AMG GT family. Wishbones, steering knuckles and hub carriers on the front and rear axles are made entirely from forged aluminium to reduce the unsprung masses. In addition, the wheels are located by double wishbones. The resulting camber and track stability allows high cornering speeds while giving the driver optimum, highly precise road feedback right up to the very high critical cornering limits.

In the AMG GT C, the AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension is combined with infinitely variable, adaptive adjustable damping. The electronically controlled system automatically adapts the damping on each wheel to the instantaneous driving situation, speed and road conditions.

Even greater agility: active rear-axle steering from the AMG GT R

The new Mercedes-AMG GT C responds even more sensitively thanks to the standard-fit active rear-axle steering, which made its debut in the Mercedes-AMG GT R and is also standard equipment on the GT C Roadster. For the AMG GT S, this feature is optionally available in combination with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. The system allows an even better combination of agility and stability – handling characteristics that are normally in opposition to each other.

Up to a speed of 100 km/h, the rear wheels point in the opposite direction to the front wheels. The AMG GT C turns into corners with significantly higher agility, delivering even greater driving pleasure while requiring less steering effort. Under everyday driving conditions, the driver also benefits from a smaller turning circle, such as when turning or parking.

Once the speed of the AMG GT C rises above 100 km/h, the system points the rear wheels in the same direction as the front wheels for perceptibly improved handling. At the same time, the lateral force on the rear wheels builds up considerably faster on changes of direction, this speeding up the response to the steering. The driver also notices that the car delivers massive rear-axle grip and high stability on fast changes in direction, without the usual tendency for the rear end to break out.

Standard equipment: rear-axle limited-slip differential

In common with the AMG GT S and AMG GT R, the AMG GT C comes as standard with an electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential, which is integrated into the compact transmission housing. Its sensitive and fast control raises the critical limit of vehicle dynamics to a new level. It not only further improves the traction of the drive wheels, but also increases the critical cornering speed.

Exclusive equipment package: AMG GT C Edition 50

The new AMG GT C will launch as an exclusive special Edition 50 model to mark the landmark year of the company, which was founded in 1967 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2017.

The Edition 50 will be available in two exclusive special paint finishes: designo graphite grey magno and designo cashmere white magno. To give the exterior a distinctive look, black chrome highlights are applied to the side skirt trim, the front splitter, the trim strips in the air inlets of the Panamericana grille, the fins on the side air outlets in the front wings, the moulding on the rear diffuser and the exhaust tailpipe trims. The surface of the cross-spoke AMG forged wheels has been harmonised with the black chrome elements of the exterior.

The interior is marked by a contrast between black and silver. This colour scheme is followed not only by the trim in STYLE exclusive nappa leather in silver pearl/black with grey diamond-patterned contrasting topstitching, but also by the black AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with grey contrasting topstitching, "Edition" lettering on the steering wheel bezel and 12 o'clock mark in silver pearl.

To emphasise the sporty character, the Edition 50 comes as standard with the AMG Interior Night package, which includes such features as steering wheel spokes, shift paddles and door sill panels in black.

The interplay between light and dark is further accentuated by silver seat belts and black chrome trim. The head restraint of the AMG Performance seat is embossed with "GT Edition 50".

New options for AMG GT and AMG GT S

In addition to a technical upgrade courtesy of active aerodynamics, higher output/torque and active rear-axle steering, the update of the AMG GT model family also includes significant additions to the scope of equipment. A host of new optional extras will be available in future.

The new equipment packages include the AMG Exterior Chrome package with trim in high-gloss chrome and the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, which is now also available for the AMG GT.

The AMG Interior Night package, which comes as standard in the AMG GT R, is now also optionally available for the other Coupés of the AMG GT family. This package includes the AMG Performance steering wheel in DINAMICA microfibre with spokes and shift paddles in high-gloss black. The cross-strut in the luggage compartment as well as the trim in the backrest of the optional AMG Performance seats are also in high-gloss black. The package is rounded off by stainless-steel door sill panels in black, optionally illuminated in white with AMG lettering.

The motor sport heritage is further visually accentuated by the AMG Exterior Carbon Fibre package, which uses high-grade sight carbon fibre for the front splitter, side fins on the air outlets in the front wings, exterior mirror housings, side skirt inserts (AMG GT C only) and rear diffuser.

Wider choice of individual equipment items

The new individual equipment items for the AMG GT and AMG GT S also means a significant upgrade for the sports cars. In combination with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, for example, it is also possible to order active rear-axle steering for the AMG GT S.

Also new are light-alloy wheels with mixed tyres, such as the 5-twin-spoke 48.3/50.8 cm (19/20-inch) wheel, painted in high-sheen titanium grey, 265/35 R 19 on 9 J x 19 ET61 at the front and 295/30 R 20 on 11 J x 20 ET68 at the rear or the 5-twin-spoke 48.3/50.8 cm (19/20-inch) wheel, painted in high-sheen matt black, 265/35 R 19 on 9 J x 19 ET61 at the front and 295/30 R 20 on 11 J x 20 ET68 at the rear (both available from Q3 2017).

The new optional STYLE Exclusive nappa leather trim in diamond-patterned macchiato beige is now also available to give an especially high-grade look & feel to the AMG GT and AMG GT S. Comfort at high outside temperatures is heightened by optional seat climate control for the AMG Performance seat.

AMG Track Pace for use on the race track

The new AMG Track Pace feature is optionally available for the entire AMG GT family. It turns the smartphone into a personal racing engineer. Customers can use the app to analyse and improve their driving style on the track as well as sharing with other AMG drivers on Facebook, YouTube or the AMG Private Lounge.

The app for the Apple iPhone® connects to the AMG GT models by WiFi. The vehicle then sends a host of data to the app in real-time, such as speed, gear, steering angle, time, position and acceleration.

Lap or sector times on race tracks can be saved. Numerous track profiles are already stored on the app for this purpose. Drivers can also record and save additional race tracks themselves. In addition, the Apple iPhone® camera records the performance on the race track, the driver then receiving an interactive video of their racing experience with all the telemetry data superimposed.
