GRANDVILLE, Mich.––It seems we always have a new Honda award to report on, and it continually makes us proud to sell a brand that consumers and the media love! This time we're reporting a big one. The North American International Show (NAIAS) kicked off earlier this week, where the car, truck, and utility vehicles of the year awards were announced. If you haven't heard already, the Honda Ridgeline has won the 2017 North American Truck of the Year award!



Honda's release of the 2016 Honda Ridgeline created a stir in the pickup market last year, as this truck was a comeback from the cancellation in 2014. The revival of this pickup was big news, but the Honda Ridgeline itself has been even bigger. This midsize truck held a number of exclusive engineering features built to benefit the end user in ways no other car manufacturer has thought before.

The unibody structure, advanced safety features (Honda Sensing suite), scratch and dent resistant truck bed, 4-foot wide flat bed, in-bed trunk, in-bed audio system, and dual-action tailgate are just a few factors that played into the Ridgeline's big win. Speaking of advanced safety features, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline equipped with front-end crash prevention and LED headlights was the only pickup truck to earn a TOP SAFETY PICK+ from IIHS.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was put up against the Ford F-Series Super Duty and the Nissan Titan and was awarded top honors with a big advantage in points. The Ridgeline was awarded 364 points, while the F-Series earned 193 points, and the Nissan Titan 72 points.
