This is SAIC Volkswagen's baby SUV below the Tiguan and Teramont (Atlas), named Tharu. We revealed this at VWNEWSBLOG a week after Volkswagen's Generation SUV & Touareg presentation in Beijing, China.
The Tharu and its counterpart cousins built in Mexico for North America, Argentina for South America and Russia are expected reach an annual production target of 400.000 units once all plants are manufacturing from 2020.
The Tharu is similar in dimension from the T-Roc and sister brands SUVs the Skoda Karoq and SEAT Ateca.
Tharu will be launched in China later this year.
